Weston Town Councillor for Winterstoke

Charlie has represented Winterstoke ward on Weston Town Council since 2023, alongside colleagues Ciaran Cronnelly and Annabelle Chard. He lives in Haywood Village and is, by some way, the youngest member of the council and so believes it is his responsibility to ensure the vitality of the town can be enjoyed for his generation and those to come.

He is Weston born and bred and so knows the town, its needs and its ills, like the back of his hand which gives him a fantastic opportunity to help forge a town not built just for tourism or as a commuting hub to Bristol, but somewhere which stands on its own two feet, independent and unique.

Before he was elected, he was the primary reporter for the Weston Mercury covering everything about the town and getting to know many faces along the way. He was also Vice Chairman of the committee which oversaw the council’s HQ relocation works to the former Mercury office: his old, and now current, home. In this role he helped to ensure the history of the town’s principal newspaper of record was not destroyed or lost to time, saving its archives for future public enjoyment.
