Dan Aldridge MP – Labour Member of Parliament for Weston-super-Mare
Dan Aldridge was elected as the Labour MP for Weston-super-Mare in the 2024 General Election, winning the seat from the Conservatives with a bold, positive campaign focused on fairness, investment, and community.
Dan has lived in Weston for most of his life, and understands the challenges local people face — because he’s experienced them too. He brings to Parliament a deep commitment to social justice and a strong record of campaigning and public service.
Before becoming an MP, Dan spent over a decade working to make change happen nationally. He built strong relationships with senior Labour Shadow Cabinet members, party activists, trade unions, social enterprises, businesses, and educators. He led national projects focused on tackling sexual violence, hate crime, and online harassment, and helped shape major national technology legislation. He also successfully negotiated funding to support digital inclusion and improve access to skills and opportunities in the tech sector.
Now, as the MP for Weston-super-Mare, Dan is focused on improving the lives of residents in Weston, Worle and the surrounding villages. His priorities include securing investment for the local economy, strengthening the NHS, improving public transport, addressing the housing crisis, and protecting our coast and countryside from pollution and overdevelopment.
Dan is a visible and approachable MP who holds regular surgeries, listens carefully to residents, and fights for the people he represents every day in Westminster. He believes that politics should be rooted in community — and is proud to stand up for Weston-super-Mare in Parliament.
